Cookies Policy

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve efficiency, and to provide information to the owners of the site. Learnisim AI uses a minimal set of cookies — only what is strictly necessary to run the service.

2. Cookies we use

We do not use advertising cookies, social-media tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics). We do not use fingerprinting or similar tracking technologies.

3. Essential cookies

The lf_token cookie is strictly necessary for the service to function. It holds a signed JWT that proves you are authenticated. Without it, you cannot log in or use any protected feature. Because it is essential, it cannot be disabled without breaking the app. The cookie is:

HttpOnly — not accessible to JavaScript, reducing XSS risk.
Secure — only sent over HTTPS in production.
SameSite=Strict — never sent on cross-site requests, mitigating CSRF.
Short-lived — expires after 7 days of inactivity.

4. Third-party cookies (Stripe)

When you initiate a payment, you are redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies on that page for fraud detection and session management. We have no control over these cookies. Refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.

5. Managing cookies

When you first visit Learnisim AI, a cookie consent banner lets you choose Accept all or Essential only. Your choice is stored in localStorage so we don't ask again. Essential cookies (authentication and payment fraud prevention) are required for the service to work and cannot be turned off without breaking login or checkout.

To clear all cookies and reset your consent choice:

Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data.
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All.

Note: clearing cookies will log you out of Learnisim AI and any other sites you are signed into. Clearing site data also removes your stored consent preference, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.

6. Local storage

In addition to cookies, Learnisim AI uses the browser's localStorage to remember UI preferences such as your coaching and reminder settings. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time via your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → learnisim.com → Clear).

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice.
